This game is clearly a labor of love. The music is fantastic, the art, the writing and whatever is voice acted is all on point. Really looking forward to act2!
I finally finished the game and WHEWWWWW this man is going to be the death of me. I am obsessed with him. He is probably the best yandere that I've seen. His possessiveness and love for the player is so raw. The NSFW scene???? Got me so flustered and wanting more. His touch of manipulation towards the end is so subtle but powerful. The player doesn't catch it but WE do which adds to the tension and suspense. The game has a perfect mix of romance and horror. AAAAHHHHH I LOVE SETO SO MUCH <3333 I also really love the other characters! Maki is too cute <3 Her voice and appearance match so well together

He's Just Away is a fantastic piece of science fiction mixed with dark romance that leaves the player with genuine moral dilemmas throughout the experience.
Beyond its beautiful aesthetic, the game truly shines through the morsels of worldbuilding and characterisation that we're provided during the first act itself. A lot of thought has been put into these aspects, but it doesn't lessen the impact of the grief and confusion we're left with as we're dealing with the consequences of the player characters actions and circumstances.
What truly sealed my personal rating of this game is the characterisation of SETO. He's not your run off the mill murderboy with beautiful locks, but he represents the possibility of harm AI could possess if allowed to "complete their objective" without the proper safeguards in place.
This is definitely a game to look out for, not just for otome lovers, but also for science fiction fans alike.

I downloaded the game around a day or two after it was released, and since then this game has plagued my mind every day since, prompting me to go and play it again if I can.
This story haunts me in the best way, as it always does with 'I was made to love you' stories.
The MC is tremendously depressed, and is doing their best, even if it is to the detriment of themselves and their work.
The loss of the original Seto, along with the inability to locate his body, is a huge gaping hole in their life, and why wouldn't it be?
You think Highschool Sweethearts are plenty entangled, but I'm sure it's even more heinously difficult with Middleschool Sweethearts of all things!
He's been by the MC's side since before either of them really hit puberty, they were a 1 in a billion chance of working out, and even when they did, even when they triumphed in such a way, there was still a parting that neither of them were anticipating.
Android Seto is perfect in one sense, even if he's not a perfect replicate.
He's the perfect possessor, as it's going to be extremely difficult for the MC to pull from him when he looks and acts to much like their dead husband, and as hinted for the future, might become more like him as he memorized any turns of phrase and mannerisms he had.
(When he called the MC Moonlight instead of Starlight, of course it shows the difference in the both of them- but it really showed me right off the bat he didn't consider himself as the real Seto, if he did, then he would have simply mimicked the original nickname instead of giving a close one and twisting the knife.
In my opinion anyways.)
The soundtrack was a nice backdrop, the backgrounds were futuristic and makes me want to see more from this world, and the sprites are very nice!
I especially like Maki, she seems so nice, and like she doesn't really take shit from anyone when push comes to shove, it must have been a bit world-turning when the Android wearing the face f her dead friend just simply appeared out of nowhere for her.
The writing is amazing and I can't wait to see more, thank you, I'll definitely keep an eye out for future updates, I'm already hungry for more!

So I really wanted to explore what would happen if a pair like that was tragically broken up and the person left behind wasn't even able to get closure.
I was really worried at first the people would dislike MC but it makes me really happy to see comments like yours showing empathy, kindness and love towards them. They're genuinely just struggling and it's upsetting that their friends are so worried about them but they're isolating themselves. Because that's just how grief is sometimes.
And thank you for your comments on android Seto! When I was writing him I was thinking as well, that he really is MC's worst nightmare. Because MC is powerless at the moment psychologically against him, and is struggling mentally so much, they're in an incredibly vulnerable position and Android Seto absolutely knows this.
I'm hoping in act 2, we'll add a computer interface with some lore files! So you'll be able to read up more about the world itself and what project Heaven actually is!
And I love Maki! I really love her. I think out of all the characters she really is my favourite. Steadfast, loyal and strong. She's really someone I could love and admire!

Just finished Act One and damn, all I can say is this game is about to go crazy. The visuals and characters were stunning! And the OST was amazing. SOLID 10/10. Not only was I immersed in the story, but this is one of the few games where I actually emphasize with the MC. Seeing them going through denial, all their memories with Seto and seeing how much they loved each other was heartbreaking to sit through. The VA for Seto made it even more emotional for me. Like I couldn't be completely mad with the MC because grieving is a difficult process and it's different for everyone. This is also one of the few yanderes where I actually feel scared about. Don't get me wrong, both Setos are hot af but android Seto made me feel uneasy every time he was on screen. When his eyes turn purple and when he called us "Starlight", I felt my stomach DROP. And that ending made me go "Oh Shit. We're in trouble." Overall, everyone on the team did an amazing job. Can't wait for more.
*Side Note but this game reminds me a lot of the Black Mirror episode "Be Right Back". Very similar concept and I remember being depressed after watching it T-T

I feel like it's a little cruel of me, but I always rejoice when people say Seto is scary xD. Because I did really intend to make him scary. Not outrightly violent or angry or anything, but insidiously, like a viscous seeping sludge. So you don't know what's happened until it's a bit too late.
I haven't watched Black Mirror in so long but ended up checking it out when you mentioned it! I cried lots :c I actually really enjoy Domnhall Gleeson's acting and think he did wonderfully in that!

This is incredible! I love the art and the story so far has me in a choke hold! The spice was SPICY, but this is definitely a story that I can be honest about saying "I'm here for the plot" .... though for real that spice was chef's kiss lol But yeah, the story really has me invested and I can't wait to learn what comes next. hey, i just wanted to comment that this has an amazing chapter 1 so far! it felt like an incredibly strong entry, and i really can't wait for more :) i think a lot of visual novel games tend to spout that they have yandere characters, but i genuinely think this is one of the few times i have actually felt they held a dangerous vibe! a lot of times they're just possessive, but this seto makes me think, "ah, mc really is in danger, huh?" i think your writing is great for that. (also the art where android!seto eyes glowed?? that was great *chef kiss*)
i really look forward to seeing more! i think someone mentioned it, but it'd be nice if there was a more simpler font choice for reading accessibility :) also, there were some issues with the back button for me? sometimes i would click it and it would turn into "none" and progress forward, even though i wanted to progress backward. so it would take a few tries to go back.
nonetheless, great writing and interesting premise so far! i definitely look forward to following your progress and seeing more :) do you think you would have methods for supporting your team in the future? i would love to purchase the game or something to support the game's development.

Saw a tweet about this and had to take a look. It's amazing and I'm so happy I followed up! We've only seen act 1 and there were already moments where I felt my skin crawl and just went "Oh, sh*t."
Can't wait to see where the story goes and if we get a thunderdome clash of the husbands! Or Maki, that girl feels like she'll take a wrench and start making introductions-
It's great that MC does have people that were very connected to them and Seto and who are prepared to offer up conflict to push the narrative along and create some opportunities for MC to be dowsed in some reality.
I saw someone else mention text readability and I do have to agree it wasn't as smooth as it could be, not even entirely sure what about it is so straining but I'd guess the font.
TLDR To everyone wondering; it's worth checking out and worth seeing where it goes.
**Spoiler warning: That purple eyed expression?? Genuinely unsettling I loved it and my eyes went so wide the first time it popped up! Made me watch that overdesigned apple-watch's expressions much more carefully going forward!

I just let our GUI gal know (but this is absolutely my oversight because I chose the fonts for her) and she is going to update and make some changes for better readability over the next few days! This was so???? The emotions I felt while playing were so deep. Usually I'm able to separate myself from the MC in visual novels but I actually found myself genuinely empathizing with the MC more. How they felt losing their spouse, seeing the love they felt for Original!Seto. I expected him to be a Lost Lenore type, a faceless, vaguely perfect background backstory to add angst. But I actually felt so sad seeing their life before, how we loved him and he loved us so genuinely. To the point that when Android!Seto showed up and his textbox said "Moonlight" I was immediately like "MY HUSBAND CALLS ME STARLIGHT!"
Impeccable writing.
Also hats off to the VAs, chef's kiss to everyone. Especially Felix and ENVI. When Original!Seto talks you can practically see the fondness in every word which really contributed to making me fall for him (rip honey i'm sorry i banged your android but in my defense. it's 2025 I had to fulfil the prophecy)

Yes! I think I like both Seto's ultimately because I shouldn't have favourites. But Original!Seto is just so likeable, I feel so sad and bittersweet about him :(.
Felix and Envi were so incredible! Envi's little subtle changes to the different Seto's made me gasp at points! (It's ok :c I also fulfilled the prophecy!)

The way I am already super invested is crazyyyy, the story is set up really well and I love the music and the sprites! Had a few chuckles over some of the dialogue especially, but I really liked all of the writing in general. NSFW was spicyyyyyy in the best ways, but can be skipped if you'd prefer <3 I look forward to the rest of it!

hey, i just wanted to comment that this has an amazing chapter 1 so far! it felt like an incredibly strong entry, and i really can't wait for more :) i think a lot of visual novel games tend to spout that they have yandere characters, but i genuinely think this is one of the few times i have actually felt they held a dangerous vibe! a lot of times they're just possessive, but this seto makes me think, "ah, mc really is in danger, huh?" i think your writing is great for that. (also the art where android!seto eyes glowed?? that was great *chef kiss*)
i really look forward to seeing more! i think someone mentioned it, but it'd be nice if there was a more simpler font choice for reading accessibility :) also, there were some issues with the back button for me? sometimes i would click it and it would turn into "none" and progress forward, even though i wanted to progress backward. so it would take a few tries to go back.
nonetheless, great writing and interesting premise so far! i definitely look forward to following your progress and seeing more :) do you think you would have methods for supporting your team in the future? i would love to purchase the game or something to support the game's development.

Thank you for noting the issues with readability and also the back button as well! Our lovely GUI artist mentioned she will fix up the GUI with a better font and also remove the horizontal lines in the box too which should make it much more friendly! I'll note the problem with the back button now for the team too!
I think in terms of support, we don't have too many plans around that right now since this is just us working on it as a hobby, but if there is an opportunity for it, I would LOVE to do some merch or side stories! You're very very kind for asking though, thank you!

Saw a tweet about this and had to take a look. It's amazing and I'm so happy I followed up! We've only seen act 1 and there were already moments where I felt my skin crawl and just went "Oh, sh*t."
Can't wait to see where the story goes and if we get a thunderdome clash of the husbands! Or Maki, that girl feels like she'll take a wrench and start making introductions-
It's great that MC does have people that were very connected to them and Seto and who are prepared to offer up conflict to push the narrative along and create some opportunities for MC to be dowsed in some reality.
I saw someone else mention text readability and I do have to agree it wasn't as smooth as it could be, not even entirely sure what about it is so straining but I'd guess the font.
TLDR To everyone wondering; it's worth checking out and worth seeing where it goes.
**Spoiler warning: That purple eyed expression?? Genuinely unsettling I loved it and my eyes went so wide the first time it popped up! Made me watch that overdesigned apple-watch's expressions much more carefully going forward!

Thank you for bringing up the readability issue too! I just let our GUI gal know (but this is absolutely my oversight because I chose the fonts for her) and she is going to update and make some changes for better readability over the next few days! So act 2 will be easier to read. I'll also look into adding an alternative font option like Open Dyslexia for more accessibility options as well.

This was so???? The emotions I felt while playing were so deep. Usually I'm able to separate myself from the MC in visual novels but I actually found myself genuinely empathizing with the MC more. How they felt losing their spouse, seeing the love they felt for Original!Seto. I expected him to be a Lost Lenore type, a faceless, vaguely perfect background backstory to add angst. But I actually felt so sad seeing their life before, how we loved him and he loved us so genuinely. To the point that when Android!Seto showed up and his textbox said "Moonlight" I was immediately like "MY HUSBAND CALLS ME STARLIGHT!"
Impeccable writing.
Also hats off to the VAs, chef's kiss to everyone. Especially Felix and ENVI. When Original!Seto talks you can practically see the fondness in every word which really contributed to making me fall for him (rip honey i'm sorry i banged your android but in my defense. it's 2025 I had to fulfil the prophecy)

Thank you so so much! I really do feel for MC too. I was worried some might think them silly, but grief can often make people do things they normally wouldn't do. And it's been so lovely in a way to see how kind and empathetic everyone has been towards them.
Yes! I think I like both Seto's ultimately because I shouldn't have favourites. But Original!Seto is just so likeable, I feel so sad and bittersweet about him :(.
Felix and Envi were so incredible! Envi's little subtle changes to the different Seto's made me gasp at points! (It's ok :c I also fulfilled the prophecy!)

All that aside though, I love the first chapter. Without spoiling much, the themes of grief and obsession intersecting will most definitely create a story that won't turn out well for MC here. Love seeing their spiral and I love seeing how they navigate through all this.
My only small complaint would be the text readability, but I'm absolutely craving for more.

The way I am already super invested is crazyyyy, the story is set up really well and I love the music and the sprites! Had a few chuckles over some of the dialogue especially, but I really liked all of the writing in general. NSFW was spicyyyyyy in the best ways, but can be skipped if you'd prefer <3 I look forward to the rest of it!
